A Special Throwback Thursday
Most days at BCN we are focused on the latest and greatest technologies and strategies we can use to best optimize our clients’ digital footprint. However, there are times when conversation takes a more historical tone and we find ourselves discussing something completely different. Take for instance, the Detroit Grand Prix. Detroit has a great racing history, hosting the most illustrious racers from around the world over the years. As part of that, many Detroit businesses took part in the excitement of the races. One in particular, Jacoby’s German Biergarten on Brush, has a special relevance to BCN’s own Katherine Jacoby. Started in 1904 by Katherine’s great, great grandfather, Jacoby’s regularly participated in the Grand Prix festivities, hosting events and handing out giveaways. Some of those giveaways, as well as memorabilia from the racing organizations, have lasted long enough to make it to the youngest Jacoby generation. Check out the pins Katherine shared with us from the 1983 Grand Prix and the 1989 and 1990 CART Championships.
